UFC 225: Whitaker VS Romero 2 (Television)

Since I'm not the richest man in the world, and I'm already spending all next weekend in Rosemont for WWE Money In The Bank, I couldn't make this at my beloved United Center

But this card should be interesting, even though Romero missed weight and now the main event isn't a title fight. This is also a situation where there are a lot of villainous fighters. The hated Colby Covington fights the beloved Rafael Dos Anjos. And a new UFC bad boy and Middleweight Champion Robert Whitaker looks to beat the 40 year old freak, Yoel Romero for the second time, and no doubt reign supreme over a stacked division.

Early Prelims 

Mike Santiago VS Dan Ige

Result: Dan Ige Wins by 1st Round TKO 

This fight was 5 seconds, and it was in "Little Bully's" hometown. Dynamite Dan Ige is now 9-2 professionally, and a serious threat in his division. This is a stacked fight for an early prelim. 

Clay Guida VS Charles Oliveira 

Result: Charlest Oliveira 1st Round Submission 

This is going very wrong for Chicago early. I'm kind of glad I didn't go because so far this has been the execution of hometown fighters. Charles Oliveira just manhandled the fan favorite 36 year old octagon legend. Charles Oliveira is now 33-8-0, 1NC, that is in his own right iconic. 

(1) Joseph Benavidez VS (5) Sergio Pettis 

Result: Sergio Pettis wins by Split Decision 

Defense wins championships, and the 24 year old defeated the number 1 fighter in the division. Next week Pettis, should move substantially in the flyweight division. Izzy Style wrestling was why Pettis got this win.

Rashad Evans VS Anthony Smith 

Result: Anthony Smith wins by first round KO

We need to start putting respect on Anthony Smith's name, because every time he fights, it always seems he's knocking out somebody.

Prelims on Fox 

Rashad Coulter VS Chris De La Rocha 

Result: Chris De La Rocha 2nd Round TKO 

De La Rocha looked really strong against a tough brawler Rashad Coulter. De La Rocha has 100% finish rate in his fights, should be a fun fighter to watch in the heavyweight division. 

(7) Ricardo Lamas VS (11) Mirsad Bektic 

Result: Mirsad Bektic Wins by Split Decision 

This was a changing of the guard, the dominant vet Lamas dropped his bought against the young up and coming Bektic. This was a very good fight and I would love to see them go again. But Bektic pulling out the victory means he's going to be taking on some higher ranked opponents. 

(3) Claudia Gadelha VS (6) Carla Esparza

Result: Gadelha Wins by Decision

Claudia Gadelha has been unstoppable against everyone except Joanna. Being she has a win over Rose Namajunas, I expect her to be the next title contender. 

(2) Alistair Overeem VS (4) Curtis Blaydes

Result: Blaydes knocks out Overeem in 3rd Round 

Curtis Blaydes has been unstoppable, brutalizing everyone in front of him lately. It should be interesting being if he keeps this streak up, we can see a Curtis Blaydes VS Stipe Miocic matchup. 

Main Card 

Mike Jackson VS CM Punk 

Result: Mike Jackson Wins by Decision 

This is just what it looks like when a professional faces a guy who shouldn't be in the octagon. Give to CM Punk for trying, but this fight should have never been on the main card, given how amazing the first two prelim shows were. 

(9) Andrei Arlovski VS (12) Tai Tuivasa 

Result: Tai Tuivas Wins by Decision 

This was a huge win for Tai, he withstood a beating from a very awesome veteran, and pulled out the victory by the division to seemingly jump him into the top 10. Tuivasa might be the most dangerous fighter in the heavyweight division. 

(1) Holly Holm VS Megan Anderson 

Result: Holly Holm Wins by Decision 

Holly Holm shut up the talk behind the young star, and made Megan Anderson look ridiculous. 

(1) Rafael Dos Anjos VS (4) Colby Covington 

Result: Colby Covington Wins by Decision 

Colby Covington is running through his division. As much as I hate him, prediction time, Colby will beat Tyrone Woodley for the UFC Welterweight Title in his next fight. 

(C) Robert Whittaker VS (1) Yoel Romero 

Result: Whittaker Wins by decision. 

Whittaker just proved he is a head past all the competition in the middleweight division. Yoel Romero has dominated everybody in that division, except Robert Whittaker. Whittaker defeated Romero for the second time. It didn't even matter that the title wasn't on the line, Whittaker is just way ahead of Yoel.
