Evil Genius: The True Story of America's Most Diabolical Bank Heist
This true crime, 4 episode docu-series is one of the more interesting ones Netflix has released. I say this because where as most Netflix series leave the cases open, this one shows off some fine detective work to find out what REALLY happened, and basically closes the case. This documentary covers the infamous "Pizza Delivery Bank Heist," where a man with a bomb attached to his neck robs a bank, and as he's proclaiming his innocence, the bomb explodes killing him. There is a ton of evidence and suspects in this case, he is all you need to know.
Real Quick before I start braking this down, I would like to add that Marge and Bill spent most their lives trying to prove that they are so smart, that the fact that the notes written out to the victim are so drawn out, and almost over kill the instructions, just plays into the MO based on the evidence on Marge and Bill.
Brian Wells
- The Man who robbed the bank with a bomb strapped to his neck
Bill Rothstein
- Hid the body of James Roden
- Died of Cancer
- His testimony got Marge locked in prison on the Murder of Roden
- Very smart, believed to be the creator of the bomb around Brian Wells neck
Jessica Hoopsick
- Prostitute who had sex regularly with Brian Wells.
- Believed to have knowledge on the murder.
Marge Diehl-Armstrong
- Arrested on murder of James Roden (the frozen body)
- Accused of killing 3 men, guilty of killing 2
- Accused to being the mastermind behind the Brian Wells Pizza delivery murder
- Caught on the murder of Brian Wells due to bragging about it while in prison
- Inmates in prison testified against her for the murder of Brian Wells
- Mad at bank that happened to be robbed
Ken Barnes
- Sold drugs, pimped out prostitutes
- Had dogs, told Marges motive
- Was very into making bombs, believed to be the aid in making the bomb
- Fishing buddies with Brian Wells
- Marge wanted Ken to to rob the bank for the money to kill her dad.
Although this movie is very confusing at times with all the evidence thrown at you at times (and there is a lot), it is very clear to me that Marge and Bill put together the murder and are guilty of the Pizza delivery murder of Brian Wells. Even if there not guilty of it, it's still good Marge is in jail, and Bill is dead, they clearly are dangerous individuals.
